  • $7,000!!!!!!!

thanks for your prayers and support. the myanmar benefit concert last night went beautifully and we raised over $7,000. to be sent directly to the victims and their families through a missionary doctor in the country. God is so good!!! I cried all the way home from the concert as I was blown away by God using my desire to help these people and providing so much money for them! now i'm thinking about dabbling in fundraising as part of my career. it's so much fun!

  • Myanmar

i don't know about everyone else, but my heart has been breaking for the china and myanmar victims these last 10 days. i've seen pictures of women holding their dead children and children who lost their parents just wandering in the streets with no one to care for them.

because of my sadness over this, i have organized a benefit concert for this saturday night. i know that you, my friends are not able to attend, because most of you don't live here. but if you wanted to donate, let me know. we are donating funds through an organization called Asia Hearbeat. this organization will wire the money to thailand where a doctor who is also a missionary to myanmar will carry it in by hand. none of the funds will go through the government.

please pray for these countries as they are experiencing total devastation.

    insecurity

    k. so i've been feeling insecure in my job this semester. i lost a piano student in a way that was pretty hurtful and it's caused my boss to question my teaching on different levels. i miss everyone thinking i was a perfect teacher. i know it's better to grow, though. it's just hard.

    otherwise life is good.

    taxes

here's a mini update of our life even though i think only 2.5 people read this.

two weeks ago we found out that we owe $2,000 more on our taxes than we saved for. i guess i was prepared like i should have been. the long and short of it, though, is that we have been working like crazy, saving every penny AND God has miraculously provided! it's been an incredible faith builder for us.

along those lines, in addition to my 30 hr./wk. job as a piano teacher, i have taken a job for a valet company. tim works for the same company and we hope to valet together. this is a great job for me, because i can work as many or as few hours as i want.

yay! God is super good, even when i feel like i can't see Him...

    ps i like elvis
